Adam Sheppard, Au.D., Ph.D.


Dr. Adam Sheppard earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and his Doctorate in Audiology and Doctorate of Philosophy from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a licensed audiologist and hearing aid dispenser in the state of New York. He Joined Finger Lakes Hearing Center in 2022. Prior to joining Finger Lakes Hearing Center, he worked as a clinical and academic professor at SUNY Buffalo where his lab investigator the neural basis of, and clinical treatments for Tinnitus and Hyperacusis.

Dr. Sheppard has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on the topics of tinnitus, hyperacusis, age-, genetic-, and noise-induced hearing loss. He has made more than 20 presentations on the findings of his research at international conferences and has received research grant support from the National Institutes of Health and the American Academy of Audiology Foundation.

Dr. Sheppard is a native of the Finger Lakes, and in his spare time enjoys hiking, reading, skiing, boating and home improvement projects.
